SMS Terms of Service
Effective April 28, 2026 (revised April 28, 2026)
Overview
AS-Checkin (operated by Automatic Duck) is an aid station check-in system for ultramarathon races. By signing up to receive SMS text message notifications from AS-Checkin, you agree to these Terms of Service.
SMS Program Description
Our SMS program sends race-related notifications to race staff, crew members, volunteers, and spectators who have opted in. Typical messages include runner check-ins and check-outs at aid stations, did-not-finish (DNF) updates, and finish events.
Spectators may also opt in on a per-runner basis by entering a runner's bib number on the public live results page. After opting in, you will receive SMS notifications about that specific runner's progress — typically check-in, check-out, DNF, and finish events at aid stations along the course.
How You Opt In
You opt in by visiting the public live results page for a race, entering your name and mobile phone number (and, for spectator per-bib subscriptions, the runner's bib number), and checking the box that states you agree to receive race-related text alerts. By opting in, you confirm that:
You are providing your phone number voluntarily;
You consent to receive race-related SMS alerts;
You are the subscriber of the mobile phone number you provide, or have authorization from the subscriber to opt in.
Message Frequency
Message frequency varies based on race activity. During an active race you may receive several messages per day; outside of race events you will typically receive none.
Message and Data Rates
Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier plan. AS-Checkin is not responsible for any carrier fees you incur.
How to Opt Out
You can stop receiving messages at any time by replying STOP to any message from us. You will receive a single confirmation message and no further messages will be sent.
Help
For help, reply HELP to any message, or contact us at wes@automaticduck.com.
Supported Carriers
Our SMS program is compatible with all major U.S. mobile carriers, including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and Sprint, as well as most smaller carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Privacy
Your privacy matters. See our SMS Privacy Policy for details on what we collect, how we use it, and our commitment that no mobile information or messaging consent is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
No Warranties
AS-Checkin is provided as-is. We make no guarantees about uptime, data accuracy, or message delivery timing. Race-critical decisions should not rely solely on this system.

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be available at this URL with the effective date shown above.
